Questions

Black sunflowers grow upon the valley,
Beasts trudge along the ashen city,
What of life has it become?
Was it us or was it us?

Murky waters flow from crystal ponds,
Drops of sadness fall from the delightful sky,
What of earth has it become?
Was it him or was it him?

History books are written from faded memories,
Knowledge is attained from a mirage of libraries,
What of ideals have they become?
Was it me or was it me?

Feuds ignite from everlasting friendships,
Grandeur battles are fought on the most serene of plains,
What of man has he become?
Was it them or was it them?

Continents are marked by blind cartographers,
Oceans are owned by pathetic leaders,
What of virtues have they become?
Was this wrong or was this wrong?

Nature seeks no redemption in man,
Time governs no law in reality,
Life bestows enlightenment not on one but every,
A Question is never but one too many.

People rarely make use of the freedom they have, for example, freedom of thought, instead they demand freedom of speech as compensation.

k.

1st stanza.

i love the word 'ashen'.. i always want to use it but havent found the right oppertunity yet.

2nd stanza.

i'm wonding about the second line. sadness coming from a delightful sky, they might be some other thing you tried to get across using this, they are quite oppersite things.

3rd stanza.

faded memories is cliche. i think you can do better and make up something more unique, infact by reading your work, i know you can do better.

over all, its a good poem. it has a lot of interesting imagery, a nice flow to it. there are parts of it i dont get, ive read it over a few times, maybe i'm just being stupid though, i felt like parts were just piece of imagery put together with no meaning behind, like i said, maybe i'm just dumb and used to poetry that has a clearer meaning.

Ms,

True, I've read your poetry, and it's more direct, i'm sorry to say this, but my poetry is elusive in meaning. Meaning is the one thing which is going to take a while before you understand it.

There is a reason as to why the imagery is placed like that, i'll let you figure it out, that's the title after all! :P

Do have a nice day and thank you for taking your time to comment.

The questions we need to ask ourselves are the questions so rarely asked. I assume we're afraid of the answers.

I quite enjoyed this one.

Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead.

Beautifully written.

I have a poem about questions that keeps running around in my head. I'm waiting for the perfect moment to convince it from my mind to paper. I'll link you to it when I write it. :)

Again, this is great.

Keep writing!

Be well.
